A Message from Our Wellness Director

Stephanie knows every one of our animals by heart. Here, in her own words, she introduces the dogs (and one cat) in our care.

Every animal who comes to Blue Waters has a story, and part of my job is learning it. I spend my days making sure each of them is healthy, comfortable, and loved, and along the way I get to know who they really are: the shy ones who blossom, the goofballs who never stop, the seniors who've earned their naps, and the ones who take their time deciding whether to trust you.

On this page you'll meet all of them. There are dogs (and one cat) ready for a family of their own, a sweet girl who's being loved in a foster home, and our sanctuary dogs, who will spend the rest of their lives with us. I've written a little about each one, so you can get to know them the way we do.

If someone here steals your heart, please reach out. Whether you adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate, you'll be helping every one of them.

With love, StephanieWellness Director, Blue Waters Dog Rescue

Biscuit, a gray and tan pocket bully, smiling at the cameraBiscuit sitting by the doorBiscuit looking up from the door mat

Biscuit

Available for adoption

Biscuit is a 1-year-old pocket bully with the cutest little face and the softest heart. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines. And that personality? Pure sweetness.

Biscuit loves gentle affection, cozy spots to nap, and staying close to her favorite humans. She bonds deeply and quickly becomes a loyal little shadow who just wants to love and be loved. Watching her confidence grow is the kind of magic that melts hearts.

She would do best with a patient family who will give her the time and reassurance she needs to blossom into the happy, confident girl she's meant to be. In return, you'll get a devoted best friend and a lifetime supply of snuggles.

If you're looking for a soft, loving soul to share your life with, Biscuit might be your perfect match.

Cletus

Available for adoption

Meet Cletus! He is a certified fun-loving smoosh with a heart as big as his goofy grin. He is 3 years old, and his favorite hobbies include professional ball chasing, making instant best friends with every dog he meets, and turning into the ultimate cuddle bug the moment playtime ends.

Equal parts silly and sweet, Cletus lives for zoomies, snuggles, and spreading joy wherever his wiggly self goes. If happiness had four paws and a squishy face, it would be Cletus.

Liberty, a brindle dog with a white face blaze, smilingLiberty on a walk in the grassLiberty looking up on a walk

Liberty

Available for adoption

Liberty is a sweet 4-year-old girl who is so grateful to be out of the shelter and safe. She knows how lucky she is to have a second chance, and all she wants in return is a person of her own to love.

Liberty is happiest snuggled up beside her person, soaking up affection and enjoying the simple things in life. She would do best as the only pet, where she can be your one and only.

All Liberty needs is someone willing to show her that her best days are still ahead.

Could you be her forever?

Buddy, a chocolate senior dog, grinning up at the cameraBuddy riding in the front seat of a carBuddy on a walk

Buddy

Available for adoption

Meet Buddy, a handsome senior gentleman of about 10 years old who would like to make one thing VERY clear: he has retired from walking.

Why waste energy going for a walk when there is a perfectly good couch waiting for you? Or better yet… THE BED.

Buddy is the sweetest boy and a professional couch potato. His ideal day consists of lounging, snuggling, napping, and supervising absolutely nothing from the comfort of his favorite spot.

He's looking for a forever home where he can live his best retirement life, preferably with a soft couch, a cozy bed, and humans who understand that exercise is highly overrated.

Buddy doesn't need a marathon partner. He needs a Netflix-and-chill partner.

Adopt Buddy. Your couch has been waiting for him.

Lottie

Ask us about adopting

Lottie is a sweet young girl, about 1½ years old, who absolutely loves everyone she meets! She is wonderful with kids and has never met a stranger.

Lottie is happiest simply being with her human, whether she's getting some love and attention or curled up happily chewing on one of her favorite bones.

She's young, loving, and ready to find the family who will love her forever. Lottie has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give her a chance.

Could Lottie be the missing piece to your family?

Batman

Our resident cat

Available for adoption

Batman is a handsome young boy, just under a year old, with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart!

He is incredibly sweet, outgoing, curious, and affectionate. Batman wants to be involved in absolutely everything you're doing. Cooking dinner? He's there. Folding laundry? He's supervising. Watching TV? He's right beside you.

This little guy loves being around his people and will happily soak up all the attention and affection you have to give. He's playful, loving, and ready to find his forever family.

Batman may not wear a cape, but he'll definitely steal your heart.

Could Batman be your new best friend?

Belle, a gray pit bull with a white chest, sitting with her toyBelle looking up at the camera on a walkBelle smiling with her tongue out on the door mat

Belle

In foster care

This sweet girl is about 4 years old and has the absolute sweetest soul!

Belle loves EVERYONE! Adults, children, and other dogs are all her friends. She's the kind of girl who just wants to be wherever her people are, whether that means playing and having fun or curling up next to you for some serious snuggle time.

She's playful, affectionate, and loving.

Belle is in foster care right now and isn't available for adoption.

Our Sanctuary Dogs

Home With Us for Life

These dogs aren't available for adoption. They'll spend the rest of their lives with us. Learn about our sanctuary.

Tig, a dark brindle senior dog, smiling up at the cameraTig on a walkTig standing in the sun on a walk

Tig

Sanctuary dog

Meet Tig, a sweet senior girl who is about 10 years old and perfectly happy keeping her circle small.

Tig isn't the type to greet every stranger with a wagging tail, and she definitely isn't looking to make friends with other animals. She chooses her people carefully, and once you've earned her trust, you become part of her special little world.

Because Tig is happiest in a calm, familiar environment without strangers or other animals, she will spend the rest of her days here at our sanctuary. And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

She may not be everyone's dog, but she is our girl, and she deserves to feel safe, loved, and protected for the rest of her life.

Some dogs find forever homes. Others find forever sanctuary. Tig has found hers.

Blue, a gray senior pit bull, holding an orange ballBlue standing on the door mat

Blue

Sanctuary dog

Meet Blue, our sweet senior boy who is about 11 years old.

Blue has struggled with severe thunderstorm anxiety for much of his life. When the storms roll in, the world can become a very scary place for him. He needs extra care and support, especially during storm season.

Because of his anxiety and special needs, Blue will spend the rest of his life here at our sanctuary, where he knows he is safe, loved, and surrounded by people who understand him.

Blue may not have the easiest journey, but he will never have to face it alone. We will be here for every storm, every anxious moment, every peaceful day, and everything in between.

Blue doesn't need a traditional forever home. He already has one. Here at the sanctuary, he is home.

Lady, a black dog with tall ears and a pink collar, smilingLady on a walkLady looking up on a walk

Lady

Sanctuary dog

Meet Lady, our spicy 8-year-old girl who has two favorite hobbies: playing ball and keeping people on their toes!

Lady is a woman who knows exactly who she likes, and she is NOT interested in expanding her social circle. She has a very exclusive guest list.

The lucky few who make it onto Lady's VIP list get to see her sweet side, and with the people she loves and trusts, she is absolutely wonderful. But anyone new? Lady's specialty is the pump fake! She'll have you questioning every life choice you've ever made before deciding whether you're worthy of her approval.

She's spicy, sassy, hilarious, and 100% herself. And honestly? We wouldn't change a thing.

Lady will spend her days here at the sanctuary, where she knows the people she trusts, gets to play ball, and can continue keeping the rest of us humble.

Lady's rules: play ball, trust selectively, and keep strangers guessing.

Brie, a tan dog, cuddled on a lap with a chew in her mouth

Brie

Sanctuary dog

Brie is a sweet girl with a past that hasn't always been kind to her. After everything she has been through, she needs a little extra understanding, patience, and stability.

She absolutely adores the small circle of people she trusts, but strangers aren't really her thing. And when Brie loves you, she LOVES you. She can become very protective of her people, which means she needs an environment where she can feel safe and secure.

For Brie, the traditional idea of a forever home just isn't the right fit. So we made a promise to her: she gets to stay here.

Brie will spend the rest of her life at our sanctuary, surrounded by the people she knows, the people she trusts, and the love she deserves.

She may have a complicated past, but her future is simple: she is safe, she is loved, and she is home.
